Amazon Isn’t the Only Retail Giant Trying to Remake Health Care
Can mammoth, cutting edge companies like Amazon, Walmart, Blackstone and Berkshire solve one of our countries trickiest issues – rising health care costs? These companies spend millions on health care annually, and are all astute at cost containment and efficiency, so it is a logical conclusion that would work to fix an inefficient health care delivery system. Walmart has been testing its new plans, known as accountable-care organizations, or ACOs, which would limit consumers to a smaller group of care providers, thus prompting more cost effective results.
